The 'Glory' rapper, who also has a successful career as an actor, shares his thought on the matter when met at the Lena Horne Prize for Artists Creating Social Impact Event in New York.

AceShowbiz - Rapper Common is fine with his fans seeing him as a sex symbol.

The star, 47, has enjoyed high-profile relationships with stars including R&B hitmaker Erykah Badu and tennis ace Serena Williams, and despite his very successful career as a rapper and actor, he told the New York Post's Page Six he has no problem with devotees liking him for his looks.

"Nah. Shoot... if a lady wants to focus on something else, that's cool too. I'm grateful," he laughed.

Speaking to the publication at the Lena Horne Prize for Artists Creating Social Impact Event in New York last month, he added, "I think being conscious and being a philanthropist does not fault you from being a human being and having sexuality and having fun, so I don't box myself in."

Common, who is dad to 22-year-old daughter Omoye Assata Lynn, split with political analyst Angela Rye last year after two years together, and he revealed he's "open to a relationship" after seeking counselling to work through his relationship issues.
