The 'Welcome to the Party' rapper's casket is taken around the streets in his hometown of Canarsie with fans gathering to pay their final respects to the late star.

AceShowbiz - Pop Smoke has been laid to rest, two weeks after he was gunned down in Hollywood Hills, California. People got to bid their final farewell to the late rapper as his casket was taken around the streets in his hometown of Canarsie, Brooklyn on Thursday, March 5 during the funeral procession.

His casket was pulled in a horse-drawn carriage, which was decorated with white curtains. Fans who lined up along the streets could see the casket through the glass. The carriage was followed by a series of expensive-looking cars, including a Lamborghini belonging to Pop Smoke's friend and mentor 50 Cent, though Fiddy didn't seem to be behind the wheel.

The carriage made its way past a mural honoring Pop Smoke. Fans stood behind barricades and most of the time they were yelling out in adoration, but there were also times when there was a quieter, more somber, tone. NYPD officers were seen on standby to keep things under control.

Pop Smoke died on February 19 after he was shot in a home invasion. The Los Angeles County Department of Medical Examiner-Coroner confirmed that the cause of death was a gunshot wound to the torso. His death certificate revealed that he was operated by doctors at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center in Los Angeles before he was pronounced dead.

His family has been reportedly investigating his death as police cannot determine if it was a robbery gone wrong or a targeted hit. Four suspects fled the scene but have not been apprehended. Police are said to have found trouble looking for witnesses.

Prior to his death, the 20-year-old musician, real name Bashar Barakah Jackson, accidentally shared his address online as he posted footage of a haul of gifts he'd received from brands on his Instagram Stories. Nicki Minaj and 50 Cent, who paid tribute to the "Dior" rapper following the tragic passing, suggested that his death was caused by jealousy.
