A clip from the 'I Want Candy' hitmaker's Instagram Live stream sees him trying to give the girl at the restaurant window some free merchandise, before realizing she had no idea who he is.

AceShowbiz - Aaron Carter's attempt to gift a drive-thru cashier his merchandise fell flat, after the girl confessed she had no idea who he was.

The 32-year-old "Aaron's Party (Come Get It)" singer shared a clip on his Instagram Live stream of him trying to give the girl at the restaurant window some free merchandise - but it soon became clear she was confused by what was going on.

"I'm Aaron Carter. This is my merch. It's free," he said while handing a sweater to the girl, who just said, "Oh... thanks."

The friend who was filming the moment then asked the cashier if she knew his hit "I Want Candy", but she did not. He then brought up Aaron's brother Nick Carter and the Backstreet Boys but, as it became clear his efforts were in vain, Aaron decided to take back the sweater and leave.

Aaron's merchandise was hit with controversy in January (20), after he came under fire for allegedly misappropriating digital artist Jonas Jodicke's work to promote his collection.

The star has denied all wrongdoing.
