The former Manchester United player treasures the train ticket his wife Victoria Beckham wrote her phone number on when they first met over two decades ago.

AceShowbiz - David Beckham has kept the train ticket his wife Victoria wrote her phone number on when they first met at one of his soccer games.

The British sportsman met the former Spice Girls singer at one of his matches back in 1997. They went on to wed in July 1999 and now share four kids together.

Speaking on Wednesday's February 26, 2020 episode of "The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon", the star, 44, revealed he struck up the courage to speak to Victoria after the fashion designer, 45, "had a few drinks" in the players' lounge.

"We knew of (the Spice Girls), obviously, because they were pretty big at the time, and I was just establishing myself in the Manchester United team," he explained. "I didn't get to talk to her that day, but then the week after, she came back up to Manchester to watch another game."

Determined not to let her slip away again, David revealed, "She'd had a couple of drinks, so I decided, 'Why not?' I'd try to get her number."

"We talked for about an hour in the players' lounge. And she'd actually got the train up that day, so she wrote her number down on her train ticket, which I still have," he smiled.

"And here you are twenty years later," Jimmy said, as David added, "Twenty years later, and four kids later," referring to sons Brooklyn, 20, Romeo, 17, Cruz, 15, and eight-year-old daughter Harper.
