AceShowbiz - Sierra Gates' life off camera is as problematic as it's captured on camera. The cast member of "Love & Hip Hop: Atlanta" star is facing possible prison time for allegedly assaulting a pregnant woman in 2017.
According to court papers obtained by Bossip, the reality TV star and beauty entrepreneur has been charged with two counts of battery and one count of battery against a female who is allegedly pregnant. The incident allegedly took place in the summer of 2017, but Sierra wasn't charged until last summer.
Details of the alleged victim are currently unknown and there's no info either if the baby was harmed in the alleged assault. If she's proven guilty, the 30-year-old star may face up to five years in state prison on the battery charge alone.
Sierra is represented by celebrity lawyer, Adamma McKimmon, who was famously hired by Kevin McCall in his custody bid against Eva Marcille before she abruptly withdrew from the case. She was ordered to appear in court in December 2019 for a final plea hearing in the battery case, but the hearing was postponed as her lawyer argued that the state had not yet turned over the evidence so that she could mount a defense.
Sierra may have been alluding to the case in the trailer for "LHH: Atlanta" season 9, which is set to premiere on March 16. In the sneak peek, she can be seen tearfully exclaiming, "I might be going to jail!" The show reportedly requested to film her final plea hearing before it was canceled.
Sierra, who joined the cast of the VH1 reality series in season 6, separated from her husband Shooter in 2018 after she discovered that he has been having an affair with her assistant Moriah. The former couple has two children together.
Last month, the mother of two spoke out about her daughter Paris Gates being attacked by another student's parent at school. A video of the incident showed the 14-year-old girl being attacked by the parent inside a bathroom at North Atlanta High School.
Sierra claimed her daughter was injured due to the fight and questioned about how the parent got involved. "I was heartbroken. I've been crying all day," she said. "To see that her safety is not assure at school is very scary to me."
The following report revealed that Sierra's daughter was a bully at school and tried to have six girls jump her friend before the latter's mother came to her rescue and attacked Paris. A source said, "In fact most of the kids said Paris is a trouble maker that thinks she's bad and rich and has a stank attitude!!!! Now that's the Facts always it's a video showing the girls trying to jump her."
