Original series creator Anthony Zuiker is reported to be in talks with executive producer Jerry Bruckheimer to bring back the long-running crime drama to the small screen.

AceShowbiz - "CSI: Crime Scene Investigation" has joined the long list of shows to receive the revival treatment.

The reboot of the long-running crime drama, which ran from 2000 to 2015 and became one of the world's biggest hits on the small screen, is reportedly in the early stages of development, and according to Deadline, original series creator Anthony Zuiker is in talks with executive producer Jerry Bruckheimer to bring the old gang back together, led by William Petersen and Jorja Fox.

The drama led to a series of spin-off hits, including "CSI: Miami" and "CSI: NY".

The show joins projects like "The X-Files", "Roseanne", "Will & Grace" and "24", which have all been rebooted since departing TV.

Meanwhile, Kelsey Grammer has confirmed a revamp of his hit comedy series "Frasier" is nearing a shoot.
