Asked by Kendall Jenner about her worst date, the Vogue editor-in-chief recalls bringing her beau to meet her father, who 'never exhibited any interest in my boyfriends,' and never seeing him again after that.

AceShowbiz - Anna Wintour has gotten candid about how involved her father was in her love life. When asked by Kendall Jenner about her worst-ever date, the longtime Vogue editor-in-chief spilled the beans on the time her father cunningly caused her to part ways with her boyfriend.

The 70-year-old fashion guru took part in a special Valentine's Day edition of "Go Ask Anna" when she was presented with the question. As a response, she recalled, "In terms of my worst date ever, back in then '70s I was very, very interested in a young man who was a writer of very activist leanings, and he was always getting arrested and going to jail and getting a lot of negative press."

"My father, who was an editor of a newspaper and never exhibited any interest in my boyfriends, asked me if he could meet him," she continued. "So we had an extremely uncomfortable exchange, but at the end of it my dad said to the young man, 'I know you're interested in politics. Would you like to go to America and cover the upcoming election campaigns?' "

The daughter of Charles Wintour went on to share, "And he of course was stunned and immediately said yes, he left the next day and I never saw him again!" Wrapping up her failed romance story, she complimented her father for being "quite cunning."

In the Q&A session, Anna was also quizzed over her best date by Kendall. Replying to the inquiry, she initially quipped, "Hello, Kendall. I'm only going to answer this question if you agree to give me your answers to exactly the same question the next time I see you, which will be shortly."

The mother of 35-year-old Charles Shaffer and 32-year-old Bee Shaffer went on to say, "In answer to my best date I have to choose going to the theater with my daughter or going to a tennis match with my son."

Elsewhere in the video, Anna named her top two picks for 2020 Oscars movies, "The Farewell" and "Parasite". She additionally offered an advice to someone asking about "a good gift that you can give somebody for Valentine's Day when you just started dating." She suggested, "Maybe you want to think about cooking them dinner."
