AceShowbiz - Selena Gomez has spread her wings to the beauty industry. Just a few weeks after her brand new album "Rare" topped the the Billboard 200 chart, the "Lose You to Love Me" singer brought up an exciting announcement about the launching of her own cosmetics line called "Rare Beauty."

During an Instagram Live chat with her fans on Tuesday, February 4, the 27-year-old shared, "I am launching my own beauty brand and it is called Rare Beauty." She continued, "This is something I started working on two years ago. I found the right partners and the right team…and it's important to me because I wanted to make a brand where you feel comfortable."

"It's not just a brand. It's going to be a lifestyle," the former Disney star went on explaining her goal with the line. "I want girls and boys and men and women to feel comfortable. It's [Rare Beauty] meant to be enjoyed, it's very special. We are not meant to look like everybody else, we're meant to look like ourselves."

Spilling that "Rare Beauty" will be found at every Sephora store, the "Look at Her Now" singer added that she wants participation from her devotees. "I want your help to build the brand because I want it to be real [with] real stories and real people and just a place where people can feel like they're in a community," she elaborated. "Where they don't feel pressure to look like anything but themselves."

On the same day, Selena treated fans to behind-the-scenes footage of the brand's planning process. "Being rare is about being comfortable with yourself," she said in the voiceover of the short video. "I've stopped trying to be perfect. I just want to be me."

"I think Rare Beauty can be more than a beauty brand," the ex-girlfriend of Justin Bieber stated. "I want us all to stop comparing ourselves to each other and start embracing our uniqueness. You're not defined by a photo, a like, or a comment. Rare Beauty isn't about how other people see you. It's about how you see yourself."

On the choosing of Sephora as their brand partner, Rare Beauty CEO Scott Friedman said in a statement to WWD, "They're passionate about bringing Selena's message to life, a message that is aligned and in sync with Sephora's We Belong values." He added, "Rare Beauty will challenge society's definition of beauty that impacts our self worth. It's time to stop comparing and to start embracing our own uniqueness. Everyone is different - and that's a good thing."
