AceShowbiz - Wendy Williams is the latest celebrity who paid tribute to Kobe Bryant, who died in a helicopter crash alongside his 13-year-old daughter Gianna on Sunday, January 26. The TV host addressed the devastating news in the Monday episode of her talk show and she couldn't help but cry while delivering the topic.
"To do a show like this is very, very hard on days like this," Wendy admitted. "What I really dug about Kobe … I don't know if I even saw him play a game, but I just knew, 20 years in the game, he's a living legend."
"He really stood for putting his money into homelessness and also for girls and women playing basketball, which is a big deal," the 55-year-old continued raving about the late NBA star. "He rose to the occasion of being a good husband and a good father."
She also added that she considered to cancel today's show in the wake of the news. "I'm like, 'Okay, I want to take off tomorrow, I can't even deal with this,' " she explained. "But I have to do the show because somehow this stupid show does make people come out of their own sadness, at least for an hour."
"I said, we've got to reconfigure the show," she continued, saying that she decided to remove the fashion segment of the show. "You're alive! We all look great!"

Kobe and his daughter Gianna were on their way to Bryant's Mamba Sports Academy in Thousand Oaks, California when the helicopter they boarded on crashed on Sunday, January 26 in Calabasas, California due to heavy fog. The duo and seven others on board were killed.
