Mimi Haleyi takes the stand in New York Criminal Court to offer details of the disgraced producer's abusive behavior against her in his New York City home in 2006.

AceShowbiz - One of the women Harvey Weinstein is charged with sexually assaulting sobbed as she recalled an encounter with the fallen film mogul in his New York City home in 2006.

Mimi Haleyi testified in New York Criminal Court on Monday morning (January 27) and detailed the producer's abusive behaviour as he watched on.

She explained Weinstein invited her to his SoHo home after she had worked on one of his television productions and after she had been there a little while, he lunged at her.

Haleyi began to cry as she recalled the filmmaker forcing her into a bedroom.

"He held me down on the bed and he forced himself on me orally," she said, adding that he pulled out a tampon.

Weinstein's lawyers countered by explaining that just like actress Annabella Sciorra, who testified she had been raped by the producer in court last week, Haleyi maintained good relations with the disgraced executive after the alleged attacks.

Since 2017, when Harvey's bad behaviour was exposed in two magazine exposes, more than 80 women have accused him of assault, rape, harassment and sexual misconduct.

Weinstein has denied all the allegations, insisting any sexual encounters were consensual.

Prosecutors overseeing the case are hoping to put the producer behind bars after portraying him as a serial predator in court last week.

His lawyers maintain the two women accusing him of assault in court have turned consensual sex into non-consensual acts over time.

On Thursday, January 23, "The Sopranos" star Sciorra testified Weinstein raped her after forcing his way into her apartment in the mid-1990s.
