The 'Love' hitmaker tells her online followers she is 'trying to be hopeful and optimistic' as her mother Frankie decides to voluntarily seek help for her drug addiction.

AceShowbiz - Keyshia Cole supported her mother Francine "Frankie" Lons to get help for her drug addiction. As Frankie decided to voluntarily check herself into rehab, the singer took to Instagram to share her hope for Frankie to get better.

"My day today," Keyshia wrote, "Happy YOU DECIDED ON YOUR OWN, to check YOURSELF INTO a facility to get treatment. Its only been two weeks but, I'm trying to be hopeful and optimistic."

She added, "Maybe that's what'll make THIS TIME different. This being what YOU WANTED AND NO ONE ELSE........ Maybe this is the YEAR IN ALL ASPECTS !!!!! GREATNESS."

Keyshia has always been vocal about her mother's struggle with drug abuse. Back in Agust 2018, she told her online fans, "Every time my mom relapse, it breaks my heart more than it's already been broken. I'm hoping, if any of u are dealing with a family member who's battling with drug addiction, that you, yourself are learning how to cope with the struggle of it all."

She continued, "And all the pain it brings to see a loved one constantly relapsing. See them go back to the streets Because that's what they're used to, or would rather be. I really miss you! And will always love u."

Her relationship with Frankie was strained not only because of Frankie's addiction but also the paternity of her father. She once confronted Frankie on her show "One on One" about the identity of her dad and said she couldn't trust Frankie because she often changed her story.

"As a young girl, I looked up Pal Joeys, I called 411, y'all remember that? I called 411 a bunch of times," she told the audience. "First she told me it was in Los Angeles, guys. I called Los Angeles and it was not one there."
