AceShowbiz - Normani Kordei has been facing backlash as of lately for skipping several events, including a party celebrating the premiere of "Birds of Prey: And the Fantabulous Emancipation of One Harley Quinn". Over the weekend, the Fifth Harmony member finally opened up about the reason why she decided to opt out from attending the event.

Taking to her Twitter account, Normani apologized for her "absence" while explaining, "My body has been going through so many skin changes and I'm doing my best to deal with it all in my own way." She added, "I really love you so so much. Just figuring some s**t out right now. You're beautiful remember that and yes I'm human too lol."

Normani, however, didn't further explain what kind of skin issues she's currently suffering from. Due to this, some people suspected that she was bleaching her skin. "Hopefully you don't come back lighter after your 'skin changes,' " one said, as another wrote, "Doing the [Beyonce Knowles] style by bleaching your skin." A different individual echoed the sentiment, "She's copying Beyonce once again and doing bleaching." One other commented underneath her post, "Oh no you're skin bleaching again."

Meanwhile, some others simply wished her a speedy recovery. Normani herself has yet to respond to the accusation.

Prior to the revelation, Normani received backlash for skipping several events, and it got worse when she was noticeably absent from a premiere party for "Birds of Prey", considering that she took part in it in the soundtrack. People got even more mad because she joined Lori Harvey's birthday trip to Jamaica just days before the event. "Not Lauren and Normani not attending the Birds of Prey album release party... They better go to the premiere of the movie or it's on SIGHT," someone said.
