This is his response to Graham Chase Robinson, who claims that she receives gender discrimination, harassment, outstanding wages, and labour law violations at the hand of 'The Irishman' star.

AceShowbiz - Robert De Niro is stepping up his legal battle with his ex-assistant by accusing her of attempting to blackmail him.

Graham Chase Robinson filed suit against the movie veteran in October (19), accusing "The Irishman" star of gender discrimination, harassment, outstanding wages, and labour law violations - claims his lawyer previously branded "beyond absurd."

Her legal action emerged weeks after De Niro and officials at his Canal Productions company took Robinson to court for allegedly bilking them of over $3 million (£2.5 million) and spending the cash on trips and dog sitters.

Now De Niro has filed new papers against his former executive assistant, claiming she sent him an email in August, 2019, threatening to disclose personal information about the 76-year-old if he refused to give in to her demands.

The actor stops short of going into any specifics, but alleges she later sent a separate message vowing to write a memoir and include details about the star if he again ignored her demands, according to TMZ.

De Niro goes on to accuse Robinson of only countersuing him after she was called out for the work misconduct, for which he is seeking $6 million (£4.6 million) in damages.

Robinson is suing for $12 million (£9.1 million) in damages in her case.
