Elsewhere in an interview, the 56-year-old actor also dishes on his friendship with his 'Once Upon a Time in Hollywood' co-star, admitting that it was 'easy' to bond with him.

AceShowbiz - Brad Pitt was left confused after his "Once Upon a Time in Hollywood" co-star Leonardo DiCaprio started calling him 'Lover'.

The actors starred alongside one another in Quentin Tarantino's latest movie, in which they played Hollywood heartthrob Rick Dalton and his stuntman pal Cliff Booth, respectively. And the close bond between the characters on screen was replicated by the stars between takes, with the pair becoming close friends.

However, Brad found himself somewhat baffled when Leonardo came up with a very affectionate nickname for him.

"'Lover,' he calls me 'Lover'," Brad told Entertainment Weekly, with a shrug and a smile. "It's a bit confusing, but I roll with it."

Meanwhile, Brad calls Leonardo 'LDC', as he revealed when he shouted out his co-star at the Golden Globes following his award win.

Further reflecting on the "easy" bond he built with Leonardo on and off set, Brad explained: "You'll find, with most of the guys, I would say we're all pretty much rooting for each other, we all have respect for each other, we all have a good laugh with each other. And it plays. And it's pretty easy."

Both Brad and Leonardo have earned themselves numerous award nominations for their roles in "Once Upon a Time in Hollywood", and both are up for Oscars at the ceremony next month (February 2020).
