The 'Beauty and the Beast' actor is heading back home to Wales to film the true crime miniseries based on Steve Wilkins' book, 'Catching the Bullseye Killer'.

AceShowbiz - Actor Luke Evans is heading home to Wales to investigate a serial killer in a new true crime miniseries.

The "Beauty and the Beast (2017)" star will portray police investigator Steve Wilkins in "The Pembrokeshire Murders", based on the detective's book, "Catching the Bullseye Killer", which he co-wrote with TV news journalist Jonathan Hill.

The three-part series will chronicle Wilkins' efforts in 2006 to reopen a pair of unsolved murder cases from the 1980s, and use new forensic methods to link them to John Cooper, who was nearing the end of a prison sentence for a series of burglaries from the same period.

Cooper will be played by "Kingsman: The Golden Circle"'s Keith Allen - singer Lily Allen's actor dad, while "Undateable" star David Fynn has been cast as Hill, reports Deadline.

Sharing the news with fans on Twitter, Evans wrote, "So thrilled to be shooting this incredible true story. In my homeland! #wales".

Production on the show is set to begin later this month.
