The country music singer tells her online followers that she has been spending time with her family and supporting her mother in the past few days amid her hospitalization.

AceShowbiz - Country star Martina McBride has asked fans to pray for her mother as she recovers from emergency heart surgery.

The "Independence Day" singer took to Twitter early on Friday, January 10, 2020 to share the personal news with fans, revealing it's been a rough few days after family matriarch Jeanne Schiff was hospitalised.

"I've been absent on social media because I've spent the past week with my family surrounding my mom with love 24/7 in a Kansas hospital following her emergency heart surgery," she explained.

McBride went on to seek good vibes for her mother, although she is staying positive amid the health crisis.

"She's a fighter and one of the strongest women I know but she could use your prayers please," she added.

The news comes just days after McBride expressed her hopes and plans for the New Year.

"The feelings I'm feeling right now going into 2020 are: gratitude, peace, excitement, hope, faith, lots and lots of love, and also the urge to push myself," she wrote.

"I know there have been a lot of posts about not making resolutions and not pushing yourself. You are enough. And I believe that. But I personally know that I need to push myself a little bit. And that's ok too."
