AceShowbiz - Drita D'Avanzo has broken her silence after she and her husband were arrested for drugs and weapon possession in Staten Island, New York. The "Mob Wives" star, getting a little bit religious, took to Instagram to share an empowering message to her followers.
She posted on the photo-sharing platform a quote from Mother Teresa that read, "I know God won't give me anything I can't handle. I just wish he didn't trust me so much." Drita didn't leave anything in the caption, though many of her followers have since sent support to her in the comment section of the post.
Police uncovered two loaded firearms, 22 Xanax pills, 12 pills of hydrocodone/acetaminophen and a large amount of ganja when they raided Drita and Lee D'Avanzo's house on December 20, resulting in them taking the couple in custody. The two were booked on charges of criminal possession of a controlled substance, criminal possession of a weapon, criminal possession of marijuana, criminal possession of a firearm and criminal possession of drug paraphernalia.
Drita is currently out on bail for $15,000 dollars and is home with her children, while Lee remains in custody because his bail was denied. A judge has also ordered a limited order of protection for the couple's 12-year-old daughter.
On Tuesday, January 7, Lee faced new charges in connection to "Operation on the Ropes", a year-long investigation that busted a total of 24 people in a ring that allegedly distributed marijuana and infused THC into popular candies, New Jersey authorities said. He was charged with fourth-degree conspiracy to possess marijuana and fourth-degree of marijuana in excess of 50 grams.
It's not clear if the New York raid and the New Jersey arrest are connected. Lee's role in "Operation on the Ropes" has also yet to be known.
