The one-half of hip-hop duo Rae Sremmurd also tweeted about "compassion" as it's reported that his younger half-brother Michael Sullivan was taken into police custody as a person of interest. "I pray this world let's me keep some compassion," so he wrote.

His fans and followers have since left messages of support on his posts, with one replying to his tweet, "Lean into each other for support. You need each other right now. We may be strangers but we're all here to support you and send our love. There's still a lot of love and good out there in the world even when its hard to see."

"Hang in there bud I'm sorry," another added. A third user posted, "You're in my thoughts/prayers Tupelo loves you & @RaeSremmurd." Another person wrote, "gonna be hard man, but youre gonna pull through."

Floyd, who raised Swae and his brother Slim Jxmmi when they were in middle school, died on the scene after he was fatally shot on Monday, January 6. Police found a man dead at a home in the group's hometown of Tupelo about 9:30 P.M. Monday following a 911 call. They arrived to find Floyd already dead with at least a couple gunshot wounds.

Tupelo Police Capt. Charles McDougald said the man's adult son is a person of interest and is being held for psychiatric review, but would not release of confirm the man's name, saying no charges have been filed. "There were no other injuries reported in the home and no other suspects are being sought at this time," Charles said.
