When met at the Art of Elysium's annual Heaven Is Rock and Roll gala in Los Angeles, the former 4 Non Blondes frontwoman says that her marriage breakdown was just part of life.

AceShowbiz - Rocker Linda Perry is hoping for an "easy" and "gentle" 2020 following her separation from her actress wife Sara Gilbert.

Former "Roseanne" star Gilbert filed divorce papers in Los Angeles on 27 December (19), revealing the couple separated in August after five years of marriage.

Musician Perry returned to the spotlight on Saturday, January 04, as she attended the Art of Elysium's annual Heaven Is Rock and Roll gala in Los Angeles, and admitted the love split was just part of life.

"It's life, man," she told Us Weekly of the divorce news. "Life is happening and you're witnessing it. You know, this is a moment in life and people will get to witness it... I've had incredible journey and I'm still on an incredible journey."

"Things that end doesn't (sic) mean they're over or they're bad. It's just you're evolving into a different place and that's kind of how I'm looking at it."

Now the former 4 Non Blondes singer is looking forward to a more relaxed year.

"I would love to have a year of feeling like I'm worthy of something easy," the 54 year old added. "If the universe could just be gentle to me this year, I'd really appreciate it."

Perry and Gilbert share four-year-old son Rhodes, while the actress is also mum to 15-year-old Levi and 12-year-old Sawyer - her kids from her relationship with Ali Adler.
