Days ahead of his trial for multiple allegations of sexual abuse, the former Miramax boss opens up about his experience being at the center of the MeToo movement.

AceShowbiz - Harvey Weinstein has labelled the past two years of his life "gruelling' as he prepares to face trial for multiple allegations of sexual abuse.

The disgraced movie mogul has been accused of misconduct by over 70 women, and will face trial on multiple sexual assault charges on 6 January.

The former Miramax boss remains free on a $5 million (£3.8 million) bail bond, pending his trial in Manhattan Supreme Court, and he told CNN via email the experience has been "a great opportunity for self-reflection".

"I realise now that I was consumed with my work, my company and my drive for success. This caused me to neglect my family, my relationships and to lash out at the people around me," he wrote.

"I have been in rehab since October 2017, and have been involved in a 12-step program and meditation. I have learned to give up my need for control."

Weinstein faces two counts of predatory sexual assault - carrying a potential maximum sentence of life in prison. He has pleaded not guilty and is expected to argue any sexual contact was consensual.
