The 'Bad News Bears' actor needs speech and occupational therapy to aid his recovery following a terrifying hit-and-run motorcycle accident earlier this year.

AceShowbiz - "Bad News Bears" actor Jeffrey Davies is learning to walk again after terrifying motorcycle accident left him nearly paralysed.

Law enforcement sources told TMZ the actor, who played local troublemaker and superstar baseball player Kelly Leak in the 2005 comedy movie, was riding a motorcycle close to midnight back in May, when he lost control and was thrown from the bike.

His mum, Kim, told the publication her son was rushed to Orlando Medical Center in Florida after suffering a serious head injury that required surgery - during which doctors had to partially remove Jeffrey's skull to relieve pressure in his brain.

Now the actor, who appeared alongside Billy Bob Thornton, is learning how to talk and walk again, and requires speech and occupational therapy to aid his recovery.

However, since Jeffrey's insurance dropped him, a page has been set up on crowdfunding website GoFundMe.com to help raise $100,000 to cover the costs, and provide reliable transportation and medical supplies.

The page had hit $3,830 when WENN went to press.
