On the first day of 2019, fans, especially K-Pop fans, were shocked with reports that EXO's Kai was dating Blackpink's Jennie as photos of them enjoying a late-night date emerged online. The news unsurprisingly garnered mixed reactions from fans.

It was said that they spent time together in Paris in October 2018. They even posted some photos of their rendezvous, featuring each of them posing in front of the Eiffel Tower.

Following the rumors, both agencies of the top stars later confirmed that the two were indeed an item. However, their romance didn't last long. On January 25. SM Entertainment, which represents Kai and his group, confirmed the two have broken up, simply stating, "It is true that Kai and Jennie have recently parted ways."

All hell broke loose in the Kardashian household in February. Khloe Kardashian's relationship with baby daddy Tristan Thompson was all okay until it was reported that he kissed another woman, who was none other than Kylie Jenner's then-best friend Jordyn Woods, at an after-party.

The famous clan didn't hesitate to throw shades at Jordyn, who later decided to move out from Kylie's house. Things further went south when Jordyn went to Jada Pinkett Smith's "Red Talk Table" in March to detail the alleged affair, insisting that "it was an innocent time" as she and the Cleveland Cavaliers player didn't hook up that night.

The whole scandal was then played out in season 16 finale of "Keeping Up with the Kardashians" in June. It offered fans an insight into Khloe's reaction to the cheating scandal that led her to break up with Tristan. When people thought they were over it, Jordyn and Khloe appeared to shade each other on social media after the results of the former's lie detector test, which she took on "Red Talk Table", was released in December and proved her innocence.

The hip-hop community mourned in March as iconic musician Nipsey Hussle passed away on March 31. He was shot to death at the parking lot in front of the rapper's The Marathon Clothing store in the Hyde Park neighborhood of South Los Angeles. The 33-year-old was hit multiple times in the abdomen and head before later being pronounced dead at the hospital.

Following an investigation, police named Eric Holder as the suspected gunman. Eric was then arrested on April 2 in the L.A. suburb of Bellflower, Calif., and was placed in solitary confinement in jail. He was charged with one count of murder, two counts of attempted murder and one count of possession of a firearm by a felon. During his arraignment hearing on April 4, through his attorney Christopher Darden, he pleaded not guilty.

Following his death, the later rapper was later honored at the BET Award which was held on June 23 at Microsoft Theater in Los Angeles, California. Presented by T.I., the award was received by his girlfriend Lauren London and Hussle's family, including his son and daughter, Kross and Emani. "I just want to thank you guys for all of the love and support and the marathon continues again," Lauren said during the speech. Additionally, a couple of musicians, such as John Legend and DJ Khaled, took the stage to deliver an emotional music tribute to Hussle.

There has always been rumors that Wendy Williams' husband Kevin was cheating on the popular TV host. However, it was only confirmed when reports alleged that his mistress gave birth to their child together, which later led the TV host to eventually file for divorce from her husband of 22 years in a New Jersey courthouse on April 11.

Further making it worse was the fact that the news emerged when the 55-year-old TV personality was living in a sober house in Queens as she battled substance abuse.

However, it apparently didn't take long for Wendy to come to terms to the fact that her 2 decade-long marriage ended this way. She opened up on SiriusXM's "Urban View" that she was in a better place now that she split from Kevin. "I'm happy, I'm healthy, and I am at peace with the world and everyone around me," she proudly shared.

5. May

May
HBO

2019 is undoubtedly the year that had been long-awaited by fans of "Game of Thrones". The big night for the fans arrived on May 19 as the hit HBO fantasy series aired the final episode of its eighth and final season 8. Given the massive popularity of the show, fans unsurprisingly had a high expectation on how the show would end the story and it seemed like David Benioff and D. B. Weiss' works didn't meet their expectation.

The finale saw Daenerys Targaryen (Emilia Clarke) meeting her demise at the hands of none other than her lover and nephew Jon Snow (Kit Harington). People might expect Jon a.k.a. Aegon Targaryen to take over the coveted Iron Throne, but it was never his calling. Instead, he made his brother Bran Stark (Isaac Hempstead), who is also the Three-Eyed Raven, to lead the Seven Kingdoms.

Feeling unsatisfied with how the story concluded, fans launched online campaign to urge HBO executives to remake the last six episodes of the show. Responding to the petition, HBO's head of programming Casey Bloys said, "There are very, very few downsides to having a hugely popular show. But one I can think of is when you try to end it. Many people have big opinions on how these characters' stories should come to an end."

While he's riding high on the massive success of his hit "Old Town Road", Lil Nas X made an even bigger headline by coming out as gay on the last day of Pride Month. He tweeted on June 30, "some of y'all already know, some of y'all don't care, some of y'all not gone fwm no more. but before this month ends i want y'all to listen closely to c7osure."

He followed it up by posting the album art for his eight-song EP, called "7", that featured him donning cowboy gear, riding a horse and looking out on a skyline bright with rainbow lights. "deada** thought i made it obvious," he captioned the post. The overall response was positive, though Kevin Hart's one was deemed homophobic by some Internet users.

During an episode of HBO's "The Shop: Uninterrupted", Kevin could be heard saying, "He said he was gay! So what?" When Lil Nas X tried to calmly explain the anti-gay sentiment in society, Kevin interrupted, "Hate what? Why?" to which the rapper replied, "If you're really from the hood, you know."

Nicole Murphy made headlines in July after she was photographed kissing married director Antoine Fuqua in Italy. The 51-year-old model initially denied having an affair with the "Training Day" director, who is married to actress Lela Rochon, as her reps said that they "are just family friends."

She then offered an apology to Lela and the Fuqua family in another statement. "It was not my intention to be in this situation. I do not condone women kissing or interacting in anyway inappropriately with a married man. I too was once married and I would never intentionally undermine another woman, despite what has been written," she said.

The ex-wife of Eddie Murphy further detailed the scandal during a September episode on "The Wendy Williams Show". Calling it "a frozen-in-time thing," Nicole told the host, "Trust me, I wish it didn't happen. It was a moment where I should've thought more through the situation. Make better judgments. It's something I apologized for."

Miley Cyrus and Liam Hemsworth had always been known to have a tumultuous relationship, though most people thought they had created their own happy ending by tying the knot on December 23, 2018. Their marriage was all rainbow and sunshine until report emerged in August that "they're drifting apart," which was seemingly confirmed by Miley when she wrote that "change is inevitable" on Instagram.

Further sparking the split rumors was photo of the "Wrecking Ball" hitmaker kissing Brody Jenner's ex-wife Kaitlynn Carter during their vacation in Lake Como. Later on August 12, Liam eventually broke silence on their split. "Hi all. Just a quick note to say that Miley and I have recently separated and I wish her nothing but health and happiness going forward," so "The Hunger Games" actor wrote.

Miley and Kaitlynn's whirlwind romance didn't last long. They were reportedly calling it quits a month later in September. Miley didn't stay being single for long though, as she was snapped making out with Cody Simpson in early October. The pair's romance keeps heating up and words are, they are preparing to make a band together named Bandit & Bardot.

While some are bidding farewell to their partners, some others are excitedly starting a new life with the love of their lives. Following an up-and-down relationship, Justin Bieber and Hailey Baldwin decided to celebrate their marriage in lavish wedding ceremony at the Montage Palmetto Bluff resort in South Carolina on Monday, September 30. The wedding came more than a year after the lovebirds got engaged in July 2018 during their romantic vacay in the Bahamas before getting legally married two months later in a New York City courthouse.

The "Sorry" hitmaker and the model daughter of Stephen Baldwin's wedding bash took place at the venue's Somerset Chapel with only 154 guests in attendance. During the big day, the 22-year-old bride looked stunning in a custom Off-White wedding dress which featured a long veil with the words "TILL DEATH DO US PART" stitched on it.

Prior to her second wedding, Hailey celebrated her bachelorette party on September 25 at Los Angeles' Ysabel restaurant and Delilah nightclub with the help of model pal Kendall Jenner. She took to Instagram to share an image of herself partying in a form-fitting white dress.

2019 is also a blessing for rap star Nicki Minaj. The "Anaconda" raptress announced on October 21 that she officially became Mrs. Petty following her secret wedding to Kenneth Petty, whom she dated for less than a year.

The 36-year-old Trinidadian beauty shared the happy news on Instagram by uploading a video of their matching bride and groom baseball caps and matching Mr. and Mrs. coffee mugs. Revealing the date of the nuptials, Nicki wrote in the caption, "Onika Tanya Maraj-Petty 10.21.19."

The "Super Bass" hitmaker previously hinted at their impending wedding, saying that the two, who first made their relationship Instagram official in December 2018, would wed in "about 80 days" after filing for a marriage license in August. Their romance was not without problem as people weren't happy with the fact that Kenneth was a registered sex offender. Defending her childhood sweetheart, Nicki lashed out, "When a person is with a n***a that loved them before they had a dime in their pocket? How do you not understand that? How do you not understand happiness vs clout? How f***ing dare you talk about lowering standards?"

The word "hymen" seemingly dominated Internet in November of 2019 and people should blame T.I. for it. The rapper sparked controversy after he revealed in an interview on "Ladies Like Us" podcast that he's been taking his 18-year-old daughter Deyjah to gynecologist every year to check her hymen.

"This is what we do. Right after the birthday we celebrate. Usually like the day after the party, she's enjoying her gifts. I put a sticky note on the door: 'Gyno. Tomorrow. 9:30,' " he explained. "I say, 'Look doc, she don't ride no horses, she don't ride no bike, she don't play no sports. Just check the hymen please and give me back my results expeditiously.' I will say as of her 18th birthday, her hymen is still intact."

His remarks gained mixed reactions from people and fellow celebrities with Gloria Steinem claiming that it violated human rights. The controversy got even bigger day by day and rumors had it, Pornhub offered Deyjah, who unfollowed her father following the scandal, $1M to lose virginity on camera. Vice President of the site, however, quickly denied the rumors. "There is absolutely no truth to this rumor whatsoever," the Vice President said. "It started as a photoshopped meme on social media and we quickly denounced it on Twitter. Let me be clear in saying this here, as well. Pornhub has not, and absolutely will not, extend any offer of any kind."

The year of 2019 is ending with a renewed feud between Eminem and Nick Cannon. The two reignited their beef, which dated back to 2009, after the former dissed the latter through his verse on Fat Joe's new song "Lord Above", on which he talked about his alleged romance with Nick's ex-wife Mariah Carey.

Nick was quick to respond to the Detroit rapper's diss and released his own diss track against the Slim Shady with his song titled "The Invitation" on December 9. Comparing Em to Drake, the former "America's Got Talent" host also brought Em's daughter Hailey in the mix. One thing that caught most people's attention was that Nick rapped, "I heard your chauffeur got a video of you sucking a c**k."

"U mad bro? Stop lying on my d**k. I never even had a chauffeur, you bougie f**k," Em denied the accusation. He later added in another tweet, "I demand an apology Nicholas, you've made my gardener so jealous!" The feud is still far from ending with others, including Suge Knight's son and 50 Cent, taking sides in the beef.
