'Bachelorette' Alum Dean Unglert's Holiday Trip in Swiss Cut Short After Skiing Accident

Despite suffering a dislocated hip and fractured femur due to the accident, the reality TV star is 'extremely grateful' since 'things could have been so much worse.'

AceShowbiz - Dean Unglert's ski vacation went wrong after he got into a horrible accident. The contestant of Season 13 of "The Bachelorette" injured himself while skiing at Swiss Alps, Switzerland on Monday, December 23.

The TV personality turned to Instagram to share his unfortunate event. "All my life i've dreamt about skiing the swiss alps. how could you not? They're huge and beautiful and have some of the best snow in the world," he gushed alongside a photo of him on hospital bed.

"Today, however, was not my day. i was sending just a liiiiitle too hard and took a nasty spill which ultimately put me here," he continued. "And since this is probably going to be the only pic i get in switzerland, i figured i gotta post it."

Dean went on to explain his injuries. "A dislocated hip and fractured femur put 4 screws and a plate in my leg but things could have been so much worse and for that i am extremely grateful!" he remarked as he credited his savior. "The swiss mountain rescue blew my mind today. it took me about an hour to flag someone down for help but once i did, i was airborne and in surgery in less than an hour."

Due to the accident, the 28-year-old now couldn't continue his holiday trip like he initially planned. "Looks like i'll be celebrating xmas in a hospital bed this year," he concluded his lengthy caption, adding a cry laughing emoji.

Shortly after the nasty fall, Dean shared on Instagram Stories footage of the aftermath of the accident. The California-native could be seen lying on the snowy ground alone and shared, "Well, I just fell. 99 percent sure I dislocated my hip." He added, "Hopefully sky patrol is on the way. I called them. They didn't really seem that concerned."

The TV persona waited for the help.

Dean additionally took another video of birds flying above him and enthused, "These birds circling above are probably ready to feast on my dead carcass." He lamented, "But actually, this really does suck. I'm a little concerned." However, the last video labeled with "thank god for a random guy who came across me and was able to flag down help" assured his fans that he would get a proper treatment.
