The former NFL star's latest collaboration with Nike, which retails for $110, has sold out on the company's online store and application as soon as it hit the market on Monday, December 23.

AceShowbiz - Colin Kaepernick may no longer be a high-in-demand athlete, but he still has great selling power. The former NFL star recently launched his new collaboration with Nike, the Colin Kaepernick x Nike Air Force 1 sneakers, and they quickly sold out online. People who want to purchase the shoes through Nike's website or the company's SNKRS app will find no luck as the shoes are no longer available as soon as it hit the market on Monday, December 23.

Some unlucky fans have shared their disappointment for not being able to get their hands on the sneakers, with one sharing, "Sold out in 5 mins in Nike & Shoe Palace." Another lamented, "I tried. They sold out. I am so upset." A third user similarly commented, "Too bad they sold out in 3 sec."

The Air Force 1 x Colin Kaepernick, which retails for $110 for each pair, is made primarily of luxe black leather with the brand's reflective swoosh logo leading to a silhouette of Colin's head on the heel tab. It also features the quarterback's logo on the tongue.

The sneakers additionally include a not-so-subtle reference to his national anthem protest, with "08 14 16" being etched on the sole of the right shoe. August 14, 2016 marks the first time the 32-year-old athlete didn't stand when the national anthem was played during a preseason game between the Houston Texans and San Francisco 49ers. He later knelt during the national anthem for the first time on September 1, 2016.

"This Air Force 1 season, Nike partnered with a collective of collaborators to design an AF1 that connects to their life personally," Nike said in a statement. "Colin was identified because we believe his voice and perspective inspire many generations on and off the field."

While the brand's latest collaboration with Colin has received warm welcome from enthusiast buyers, their previous one was met with some negative feedback. When Nike launched its "Just Do It" marketing campaign that urged people to "Believe in something. Even if it means sacrificing everything" in 2018, some people burned Nike products in protest of the brand's partnership with the footballer, who started the NFL kneeling movement.
