Gal Gadot's titular character appears to befriend Kristen Wiig's Barbara Minerva before the latter turns into her villainous alter ego Cheetah, and Chris Pine's character has a lot to catch up as he's back decades after his presumed death.

AceShowbiz - Warner Bros. Pictures has released the first full trailer for "Wonder Woman 1984" online after debuting it at the Comic Con Expo in Sao Paulo, Brazil over the weekend. Set decades after events in the first movie, the film still follows Gal Gadot's titular character a.k.a. Diana Prince, who works as a museum curator while moonlighting as the super-powered vigilante.

The video offers a glimpse at Kristen Wiig's Barbara Minerva, who appears to befriend Diana before she turns into her villainous alter ego Cheetah. There's also footage of Pedro Pascal's Maxwell Lord, a second villain in the movie.

In another scene, Diana is seen having an emotional reunion with her love interest Steve Trevor (Chris Pine), who was presumed dead at the end of 2017's "Wonder Woman". Not showing any issue with Steve's mysterious return, the trailer instead highlights a hilarious moment as Steve has a lot to catch up.

Toward the end of the video, Diana is shown wearing her new gold armor, which is inspired by Mark Waid and Alex Ross's "Kingdom Come". She removes the armor's wings, likely getting ready for a fight.

According to the logline, "Fast forward to the 1980s as Wonder Woman's next big screen adventure finds her facing two all-new foes: Max Lord and The Cheetah." At the CCXP, Gadot shared details about the plot, "In this movie we find her (Diana Prince) in 1984 and is quite lonely. She's lost her friends and doing what she needs to do. She's helping mankind and saving them until something crazy happens to her."

Patty Jenkins returns as director for the upcoming movie, which script was written by her, Dave Callaham and Geoff Johns. The movie also stars Natasha Rothwell, Ravi Patel and Indian actress Soundarya Sharma. "Wonder Woman 1984" is set to bow on June 5, 2020.
