The 'What About Us' hitmaker receives a lot of support from her family, celebrity friends, and online devotees on social media after she chopped off her hair.

AceShowbiz - Pink decided to "let go" by getting her head shaved, and debuted her new look on Instagram on Thursday, December 5.

The 40-year-old singer took to the social media site to share a picture of herself showcasing her shorn locks, while sitting down and holding her cut hair in her hands.

"Letting Go," she captioned the image, before tagging Benjamin Salon hairdresser Pamela Neal in a post of her locks strewn over the salon floor on her Instagram Stories.

Pink was quickly inundated with messages of support from her famous friends, including Kate Hudson, who commented, "The most liberating!"

Kate shaved her head for movie role "Sisters". Selma Blair, who decided to go for a shaved head amid her battle with multiple sclerosis, also commented, "Twins!!" while Pink's husband Carey Hart added, "Love it!!!!!!!!!"

The "Walk Me Home" star's decision to change up her look came after she hit headlines at the 2017 MTV Video Music Awards when she recalled a story she'd told her daughter Willow, then six, after she told her mum that she felt she looked like a "boy with long hair."

"I went home and I made a Powerpoint presentation for her," she told the crowd at the awards ceremony. "And in that presentation were androgynous rockstars and artists that live their truth, are probably made fun of every day of their life, and carry on, wave their flag and inspire the rest of us. And these are artists like Michael Jackson and David Bowie and Freddie Mercury and Annie Lennox and Prince and Janis Joplin and George Michael, Elton John, so many artists - her eyes glazed over.

"And I said to her, 'Do you see me growing my hair?' She said, 'No, mama.' I said, 'Do you see me changing my body?' 'No, mama.' 'Do you see me changing the way I present myself to the world?' 'No, mama.' 'Do you see me selling out arenas all over the world?' 'Yes, Mama.' 'OK! So, baby girl. We don't change. We take the gravel and the shell and we make a pearl. And we help other people to change so they can see more kinds of beauty.' "
