Although he has not met his 'Spies in Disguise' co-star before being locked in the room together, the 'Spider-Man: Homecoming' star gushes over how quickly they bonded during the challenge.

AceShowbiz - Will Smith fan Tom Holland first met his "Spies in Disguise" co-star while playing an escape room game.

The "Spider-Man: Homecoming" actor did not meet the Hollywood superstar during production on the animated film, but they got together for a puzzle challenge and had to devise clever ways to get out of a locked space.

"It was kind of crazy, you know, because we did an escape room together," Tom tells Variety. "I've been a big Will Smith fan for a long time, and then all of a sudden I was locked in a room with him, trying to get us to escape. I don't know if I wanted to escape, I was enjoying myself in there with Will Smith."

Holland admits the get together was such a blast he was upset when they solved all the clues and escaped the room.

"We were having a really good time in there... and when we did get out, it was a little anticlimactic," he adds. "It was a little sad that our time together was done."

The two actors have now teamed up again to promote the new film, which hits cinemas at Christmas, and Will admits he was impressed with how quickly they bonded to win the escape room challenge.

"We were wanting to figure out if we really could do the stuff that we did as spies," he tells EW.com. "We got out. It was a one-hour escape room, and we were out in 24 minutes."

"I think Will got the majority of the clues," Tom adds. "I was more like the hype man in the situation. I was, like, encouraging him."

"I've never actually escaped an escape room so the secret of escaping an escape room is do it with Will Smith, because he's really good at it."
