The 'Love and Hip Hop: New York' star, however, teases that she and the rapper-turned-podcast DJ have always had chemistry, saying, 'On film, off film, we're just fly together. We just have fun....'

AceShowbiz - Tahiry Jose is opening up about the time when she rejected Joe Budden's proposal on "Love & Hip Hop: New York" a few years ago. The TV star was asked about that again when she made appearance in the recent episode of "The Real".

The co-host pegged Tahiry if she felt bad about saying no to Joe in such a public manner. "Well, he proposed in a public place so, I mean...I don't regret it," Tahiry said. "I didn't know that I was that brave. It was one of the most important chapters of my life on national TV. I believe that the show had 5.1 million viewers at the time. So, to be able to say no to the man I thought at that moment was supposed to be my forever was big."

Of turning down Joe's proposal, Tahiry said, "I had to do what was best for me." She went on saying, "I knew that that ring would come with show specials, the wedding specials...we were so big. People loved us together, but I couldn't do it."

"[It was] what my gut told me to do so I had to follow my gut. None of that mattered if the relationship wasn't healthy," she continued.

Insisting that she had no regrets and that was the right choice at the time, Tahiry shared that she did love Joe. "Of course, I love him. I love him as a person, yeah." However, she revealed that her friendship with her ex wasn't always consistent. "It depends on the day," she explained. When asked about the details, Tahiry teased, "You guys have to tune in!"

Despite that, Tahiry said that they had always had chemistry. "On film, off film, we're just fly together. We just have fun...It's weird. For somebody who has done so much in the past, for me to be able to just look past that and be over it and still enjoy him, it's cool," she added.
