Along with her husband Jaron Varsano, the 'Wonder Woman' star will serve as the executive producer for the U.S. remake of the hit mob drama about women who take over the family's crime business.

AceShowbiz - Actress Gal Gadot has signed on to produce a U.S. remake of hit Israeli crime drama "Queens" through her new production company.

The "Wonder Woman" star and her husband, Jaron Varsano, launched Pilot Wave in October (2019), and now they will help to develop the mob show for a new audience.

"Queens", which became cable network HOT's most-watched series of 2018 in Gadot's native Israel, follows the Malka women as they take over the family's crime business after their men are all murdered by a rival gang.

Gadot and Varsano will executive produce the adaptation with bosses at Endemol Shine North America and Endemol Shine Israel.

"We are so excited to celebrate these women through the Queens story," the couple shares in a statement.

"These complex characters are captivating, delightfully funny and emotional. It is rare to find content that conveys characters in such a truthful way, while mirroring society."

"We are looking forward to bringing their story to the world and working with the Endemol Shine team on this project."

It's the latest project added to the Pilot Wave slate - Gadot and Varsano are also developing the movie "My Dearest Fidel", about a real-life journalist's secret liaison with the late Cuban leader, and historical thriller "Irena Sendler", which follows one woman's stand against Nazi Germany's occupation of Poland during which she saved many Jewish children from the Warsaw ghetto.
