Having been UNAIDS' global goodwill ambassador for the past 5 years, the Spice Girls member applauds the 'I'm Still Standing' singer for the 'incredible work' he does with his charity foundation.

AceShowbiz - Victoria Adams a.k.a. Victoria Beckham paid tribute to her close friend Elton John on World AIDS Day by highlighting the "incredible work" he does through his charity foundation.

The former Spice Girls star-turned-fashion designer took to Instagram on Sunday, December 01, to mark the occasion by first reflecting on her role as a Goodwill Ambassador for the United Nations Programme on HIV/AIDS (UNAIDS), which she took on in 2014.

"It's been 5 years since I became a #UNAIDS global goodwill ambassador and I'm proud to help raise awareness on the fight towards an AIDS free future," she wrote. "We must unite and use our voices, to join together and discuss the issues around the ongoing battle to eradicate HIV and AIDS."

She then turned her attention to Sir Elton and his husband David Furnish for their efforts through the Elton John AIDS Foundation, which the rock icon founded in the early 1990s to end the stigma surrounding HIV/AIDS and find a cure for the disease, as well as provide care and support for those in need.

"Today on #WorldAIDSDay, I also look to two of my favourite people @eltonjohn and @davidfurnish and the incredible work that @ejaf does to test, treat and support people living with HIV all over the world," she shared.

"I travelled with @ejaf to South Africa to see how they support mothers living with HIV from passing it onto their children during pregnancy. As a mother of four, I can relate to doing everything that I could to protect my children and @ejaf helps mothers so that their babies are born free of HIV."

"Their Foundation works in some of the most difficult places but doesn't discriminate and will help anyone, anywhere at risk or living with HIV."

"We love u (sic) Elton and David," she concluded.

Responding to the high praise, Furnish commented, "@victoriabeckham Thanks for all your support. Together, we will end AIDS."

And Sir Elton replied, "@victoriabeckham You too have been a great support on the fight to rid our world of AIDS. Thanks for everything that you do."

Other stars taking a moment to commemorate the occasion on social media included Madonna, Naomi Campbell and singer Anastacia.
