For her performance at Dallas Cowboys vs. Buffalo Bills' Thanksgiving game, the British singer opts for a cowboy hat with fringes dangling from the brim.

AceShowbiz - Ellie Goulding was tapped as the halftime performer at Dallas Cowboys' Thanksgiving game against Buffalo Bills on Thursday, November 28. While the British performer delivered a flawless set as usual, it wasn't the reason why she became a hot topic on social media. Instead, it was the hat that she wore during her performance.

For the halftime gig, Ellie opted for a half-white, half-black ensemble paired with a cowboy hat with fringes dangling from the brim. Seeing her hat, people couldn't help but compare it to a lampshade and began making fun of it. "Why is Ellie Goulding wearing my grandmother's chandelier on her head?" someone said, with one other chiming in, "Everyone when they saw Ellie Goulding's hat," along with a GIF of Idris Elba choking on spicy chicken wings.

Another person quipped, "Ellie Goulding had some nerve to wear my late Grandma's chandelier lamp for a hat AND to sing like that. I'm BAFFLED." Meanwhile, an individual expressed his/her gratitude to Ellie because "mocking your hat united my family in a way that I didn't think was possible anymore." One other jokingly predicted, "Ellie Goulding wearing a strange looking hat that resembles a lampshade. It'll be a dress made out of curtains next week. The household look."

The trolling aside, Ellie did a great job during the halftime show. The blonde beauty delivered a string of her biggest hits, beginning her performance with "Burn" and closing it with her mega hit "Love Me Like You Do".

Ellie almost backed out from the halftime show after fans pointed out that the organization sponsoring the game, the Salvation Army, was accused of anti-LGBTQ stances. However, David Hudson, the National Commander of the organization, debunked the rumors and thanked Ellie and others "for shedding light on misconceptions and encouraging others to learn the truth about The Salvation Army's mission to serve all, without discrimination."
