AceShowbiz - New details about Gabrielle Union's controversial firing from "America's Got Talent" have emerged online. This time, it is suggested that the decision to let go the "Bring It On" actress after one season has something to do with fellow judge Simon Cowell.

Vulture reports that Simon, who also serves as executive producer of the NBC show, and his team of producers perceived Gabrielle as someone "difficult." Sources claim to the site that the two clashed after Gabrielle raised concerns about Simon smoking inside the theater where the show filmed which is against the law in California.

"Union, who is allergic to cigarette smoke, was repeatedly rebuffed when she asked other staff members to request that Cowell stop smoking inside. Sources say Union was told by an NBC executive and production staff on the program that no one could stop Cowell from smoking and that previous attempts by a fire marshal and NBC executives had been unsuccessful," the report states.

It is also said that Simon "smoked indoors for years, much to the frustration of staff, crew and talent." However, none action has been taken because "NBC has given Cowell near-total control over America’s Got Talent. Virtually no decisions are made by the network on the show without his approval, according to three well-placed sources."
