Having taken an ownership stake in the budget mobile carrier, the 'Deadpool' star pokes fun at his 2018 acquisition of Oregon-based liquor brand Aviation Gin in the press release.

AceShowbiz - Ryan Reynolds is expanding his investment portfolio by taking an ownership stake in a budget mobile carrier.

The "Deadpool" star has poured his funds into Mint Mobile, for which he will also help with "communications and marketing efforts as well as strategic decision-making."

"Celebrities generally invest in high-end products like skincare brands or delicious gin companies," Reynolds shares in a press release, poking fun at his own acquisition of Oregon-based liquor brand Aviation Gin last year (18).

"Yet Mint is making wireless way more affordable at a time when the average American is paying $65 a month. I'm excited to champion a more practical approach to the most essential technology."

He also announced the news on social media, promoting the cost-effective service to his 33.8 million Instagram followers.

"Newest @mintmobile customer. Also, owner of the company," he captioned a photo of himself. "To keep things above board, I'll be paying myself $15 a month. #MintOwner."

Mint Mobile officials have not disclosed the size of Reynolds' investment.
