Fans have been speculating that the Victoria's Secret model may be giving her failed romance with Zayn Malik another chance after she was spotted liking his post on Instagram. Now, a source tells E! News that they apparently have been in touch with each other these days.
Don't go all excited just yet, though, because the insider stresses that their communication has been nothing but platonic as of now. "They went through a phase where they took time apart and weren't communicating at all, but they have been in touch recently. She is supportive of him. They chat here and there but it's been casual." the source explains, adding that the blonde beauty "has always had a soft spot for Zayn and they have a lot of history together."
"They are definitely not getting back together but are on good terms right now," so the insider goes on saying.
Zayn and Gigi started dating in 2016, before breaking up two years later. However, their split didn't last long because months later, the two started showing off their affection towards each other on social media, confirming that they had rekindled their relationship. They once again called it quits after a few months, though.
A source said of their second breakup, "They're done. They could get back together, but it's over for now," adding that Gigi apparently tried to make it work, but the former One Direction member had "a lot of his own issues that she couldn't help him get through."
Following their split, Gigi was briefly linked to "The Bachelorette" alum Tyler Cameron after he was spotted leaving her apartment in New York several times. Moreover, the two were often caught on camera going on dates. They reportedly broke up last month.
