AceShowbiz - Jane Fonda avoided a fifth arrest in as many weeks at her latest Fire Drill Fridays climate change protest in Washington, D.C. after learning she could face months of jail time if she was taken into custody.
On Friday, November 08, the actress joined activists urging the members of Congress to take environmental issues more seriously - as she has for the past month - but this protest didn't end with the Barbarella star being led away in handcuffs after ignoring police warnings.
According to TMZ, Fonda currently has a court date set for later this month linked to a recent protest arrest, and as a result, she could have faced up to 90 days behind bars if she was detained on Friday.
Sources claim the eco-warriors behind the Fire Drill Fridays movement told Jane she was more valuable to them leading the weekly protest than she would be behind bars.
Fonda has been joined by several fellow celebrities on the protest trail and Ben & Jerry's co-founders Ben Cohen and Jerry Greenfield were among the activists on Friday.
