The 'Basic Instinct' actress accuses the hip hop star Chanel West Coast of capitalizing on her fame and wants him to stop using her name in any of his songs.

AceShowbiz - Sharon Stone is suing rapper and TV personality Chanel West Coast for constantly repeating her name in her 2018 track "Sharon Stoned".

According to a lawsuit obtained by The Hollywood Reporter, the "Casino" actress alleges the rapper is trying to capitalise on her "extraordinary level of popularity and fame" by repeatedly mentioning her name in the lyrics.

Her complaint alleges Chanel, real name Chelsea Dudley, "gratuitously repeats the name 'Sharon Stone' thirty-three times and the name 'Sharon' ninety-nine times," during its lyrics.

The intro to the song features the rapper repeatedly saying "Sharon" and "Stoned" while the mantra "Sharon Sharon Sharon Stoned" is repeated on loop later in the track.

Stone's complaint lists her movie credits from "Basic Instinct" to "The Disaster Artist", her award nominations and wins, philanthropic honours, stating that she "maintains strict control" over uses of her name and likeness due to her strong reputation.

The 61-year-old actress also claims Dudley has a "penchant for glomming onto celebrity icons" like Drake and Kanye West and "has sought to enhance her stature as a rapper by invoking and trading on the celebrity status and fame of others."

Stone also complained that the hip-hop musician infringed on her image rights by imitating her iconic interrogation scene from "Basic Instinct", and used her name to promote the sale of cannabis paraphernalia.

The Hollywood star is seeking an injunction preventing Dudley, who first found fame in the MTV reality series "Rob Dyrdek's Fantasy Factory", from using her name or image and is demanding punitive damages and any profits the rapper earned as a result of the song and video.
