Breaking down the end of his marriage to Debbie Lorenzo on 'The Wendy Williams Show', the DJ says when his ex-wife caught him with another woman, it wasn't with the 'Foolish' singer.

AceShowbiz - Irv Gotti has spoken up in defense of Ashanti, years after it's reported that she caused the end of his marriage to Debbie Lorenzo. Appearing on "The Wendy Williams Show" on Monday, November 4, the record producer refused the characterization of his sexual relationship with the R&B singer as "affair."

During the sit-down, Irv broke down his "cheating" that led to his divorce from Debbie, but denied that it was with Ashanti. "Can I talk about this, with women, and I'm gonna circle back to you Wendy," he said. "Why is it, if a man and a woman is married and they get separated and they're totally separated ... with me and Deb separated, she caught me cheating," Irv said.

Wendy then asked him if the woman in question was Ashanti. Irv quickly debunked it, saying, "No, Ashanti is not a homewrecker, guys. Ashanti had nothing to do with me and Deb." He added that when his then-wife caught him with another woman, it wasn't with the "Always on Time" hitmaker.

He went on sharing, "Deb caught me when I was directing 'I Cry' in Baltimore. Deb, being the vicious person she is, she came down unannounced, 'I'm Mrs. Lorenzo, give me the room key.' The door was latched, but she knows I'm in there. That's what broke me and Deb up." Irv insisted that Ashanti wasn't "even in the picture" at the time.

Asked about his relationship with Ashanti now, Irv said, "We don't speak. I'd talk to her. It's nothing to me."

Irv also clarified that when he talked about infidelity or a woman who was just there "to suck my [censored]" on "Growing Up Hip Hop: New York", he wasn't necessarily talking about Ashanti. "I want to clear this up, when you see a reality TV show, they edit things so they make it seem like I was talking about Ashanti when I said that and I wasn't," he explained. "It was a reality show and they're doing that to do their reality thing, I get it."

Irv previously opened up to his ex-wife Debbie about his concern over an upcoming Murder Inc. reunion tour because he would spend time with Ashanti, whom he hasn't talked to for a long time. "The world knows I don't f**k with Ashanti. We haven't spoke in I don't know how long. With Ashanti, it's a delicate situation. She is a big part of Murder Inc. The fans want that, everybody wants that," he said on the WE TV show.
