When stopping by 'The Ellen DeGeneres Show', the 'Doctor Sleep' actor admits he understands why Disney want to keep his return as Obi-Wan Kenobi in the upcoming project 'totally secret.'

AceShowbiz - Ewan McGregor finds it "embarrassing" having to play coy when asked about upcoming "Star Wars" projects by fans.

The 48-year-old actor is set to reprise his role as Obi-Wan Kenobi in an upcoming Disney+ series and, although he's known about the project for quite some time, he wasn't allowed to talk about it until only recently.

Speaking on Tuesday's (October 29) instalment of "The Ellen DeGeneres Show", he confessed: "It's awkward because the studio and the franchises, they want to keep everything totally secret, which I understand."

"But as the person being asked over and over, 'Would you do it again?' And I'm already talking to them about it but I can't say that I am..."

He continued: "So for four years I was saying, 'Well I'd be happy to do it again! I'm just waiting for the call.' It was embarrassing! Lying!"

The as-yet-untitled project, consisting of six hour-long episodes, will begin shooting in 2020.
