The Rocket Man announces with 'the heaviest heart' that he is forced to cancel his scheduled performance in Indianapolis because he felt 'extremely unwell.'

AceShowbiz - Elton John was forced to postpone his show in Indianapolis on Saturday, October 26 after the star was struck by illness.

Sickness forced the "Tiny Dancer" hitmaker to move the planned stop on his "Farewell Yellow Brick Road Tour" to March 26, 2020, with officials from the Bankers Life Fieldhouse arena wishing the singer a "speedy recovery" in a statement confirming the news.

The Indianapolis date was already pushed back a day due to a change in Elton's touring schedule because of an issue with a Toronto tour date.

Explaining that the gig had been moved once again to disgruntled fans on Twitter, the Rocket Man star penned: "To my dear fans in Indianapolis, It is with the heaviest heart that I'm forced to deliver the news that I am extremely unwell and therefore unable to perform at @TheFieldhouse tonight."

"I absolutely hate to let my fans down, but I owe it to you to put on the best #EltonFarewellTour show possible and unfortunately that's simply not possible," Elton continued. "The date will be rearranged for March 2020, and I promise I will deliver the show you deserve. Thank you so much for your support and understanding."

The news comes just a day after the star's husband David Furnish confirmed his mother Gladys had passed away, as he shared a heartbreaking tribute honouring his "beautiful, angelic Mother."
