The arrest of the 'Grace and Frankie' star and 'The Good Place' actor has been confirmed through video footage posted on the official Fire Drill Fridays Twitter account.

AceShowbiz - Jane Fonda and Ted Danson have been arrested at a climate change protest in Washington, D.C.

The actors were taken into custody outside the United States Capitol Building on Friday, October 25, while participating in a weekly environmental demonstration called Fire Drill Fridays.

The protest was led by "Barbarella" star Fonda, who was jailed for the third time in three weeks.

The pair's arrest, which was a first for Danson, was confirmed in video footage of the incident posted on the official Fire Drill Fridays Twitter account.

"@Janefonda was just arrested for the 3rd time calling on climate justice now," the tweet reads. "This week we are demanding the protection and restoration of our oceans".

The weekly Fire Drill Fridays protests will continue until political leaders agree to take immediate action to help save the environment.

Fonda has pledged to take part in 14 of the events, after becoming inspired to protest for a Green New Deal by 16-year-old Swedish activist Greta Thunberg.

Jane has been arrested at each outing so far, and was last week (October 18) placed in handcuffs alongside her "Grace and Frankie" co-star Sam Waterston.
