The 'If Beale Street Could Talk' star admits her Best Supporting Actress win at 2019 Academy Awards went to her head for a moment before she was back on the set of the upcoming HBO series.

AceShowbiz - Regina King credits her role in "Watchmen" for giving her "perspective" following her Oscar victory.

The star scooped the Best Supporting Actress gong her role as Sharon Rivers in "If Beale Street Could Talk" at the 2019 Academy Awards ceremony, but she's determined not to let her big screen success go to her head.

"For a minute, I went off to this place in my head, like, 'This is the ultimate! I have the Oscar! It's happened now! I can rest!'" she told Australia's Gold Coast Bulletin. "But the next day I left Los Angeles to go to Georgia and I was right back on the set of 'Watchmen' getting my a*s beat in the dirt, so that kind of kept everything in perspective."

Regina added she's enjoying focusing on TV work for the minute, as it allows the 48-year-old to spend more time at home with her son, 23-year-old Ian Alexander, Jr.

The actress will take on the leading roll in the the upcoming HBO series as a wife, a masked detective and a vigilante known as the Sister Night, in the show that subverts the typical superhero narrative that the masked crusaders are always the good guys.

"Watchmen" premieres 20 October.
