Describing the King of Pop as 'the most adorable kid' when he first met him, Elton said in his book that at some point, Michael 'started sequestering himself away from the world.'

AceShowbiz - Elton John has been going candid in his new memoir titled "Me". The 72-year-old British musician is known for having a friendly relationship with fellow singer Michael Jackson early on in his career, and he reveals in the book that the King of Pop had changed as his fame escalated.

"I'd known Michael since he was 13 or 14... He was just the most adorable kid you could imagine," she he wrote. "But at some point in the intervening years, he started sequestering himself away from the world, and away from reality the way Elvis Presley did."

Elton then continued, "God knows what was going on in his head, and God knows what prescription drugs he was being pumped full of, but every time I saw him in his later years I came away thinking the poor guy had totally lost his marbles."

Later in the book, Elton shared that he was being serious about it. "I don't mean that in the light-hearted way," he said, before adding, "He was genuinely mentally ill, a disturbing person to be around."

He recalled the time when he invited the "Thriller" hitmaker to his party. He claimed that MJ wandered off at one point and was found playing with the son of Elton's housekeeper. "For whatever reason, he couldn't seem to cope with adult company at all," said Elton in his autobiography, which will be released on October 15.

Michael died in 2009. He was accused of sexual abuse by James Safechuck and Wade Robson who detailed the allegations on controversial documentary "Leaving Neverland".
