Artist of the Week: DaBaby
Music

Not letting criticism get the best of him, the rapper doesn't give up pursuing a career in the music industry and continues working hard on his songs, before he finally has his first viral hit 'Suge'.

AceShowbiz - DaBaby is a living proof why people should not give up no matter what. Beginning his career in the music industry with the launch of his first mixtape, the rapper failed to attract attention as people deemed his project amateurish. But that didn't let him down as he continued to work on his music, and all his hard work was paid off when he had his first viral hit "Suge". Since then, his career has just kept rising.

It could be proven by how his two latest albums, "Baby on Baby" and "Kirk", were greatly loved by both fans and music critics. His first studio album peaked at No. 7 on Billboard 200, while his second album debuted at No. 1 and marked his first No. 1 album on the weekly chart. What made this amazing was the fact that both albums were released in the same year, clearly showing how high his position is in the game right now.

In addition to that, all 18 tracks off "Kirk" appeared in Billboard's Hot 100 chart, given him control over nearly 20% of the most competitive songs ranking in the biggest music market in the world. It also put him in a relatively small group of musicians who have placed an entire album's worth of material on the chart. Furthermore, with 18 songs charting at the same, DaBaby beat Post Malone's record for the most simultaneous Hot 100 hits this year. The latter occupied 17 spots when "Hollywood's Bleeding" debuted atop the chart.

In between his success with his own albums, DaBaby upstaged other rappers just with guest-verses. For instance, Lizzo's "Truth Hurts" topped the Hot 100 immediately after she released a remix with the rapper. Lil Nas X's "Panini" also immediately jumped to No. 5 after DaBaby lent his voice on the remix of the song.
