The 'Stay' hitmaker reveals on social media his promoters were threatened by the Chinese government that their permits would be revoked unless they scrapped his shows in the country.

AceShowbiz - Zedd won't be able to perform in China anytime soon. The 30-year-old musician/producer took to his social media to announce that he had been "permanently" blocked from the country after he liked a tweet about a recent "South Park" episode called "Band in China".

"I just got permanently banned from China because I liked a @southpark tweet," he wrote. "Just to clarify, this is NOT a joke. The government informed our promoters that if they don't cancel my scheduled shows in China they would pull their cultural permits."

A fan responded, "Are we now banned from China because we liked your tweet about being banned from China." Another replied, "Zedd's Dead (In the eyes of the Chinese government)." Another comment read, "China is trying to censor the whole world. This is insane."

A representative for the DJ confirmed the ban in a statement, "This is true, yes, but we don't have anymore info to give you at this time."

The controversial "South Park" episode that led to the Chinese government deleting the show from the internet in the country criticized Chinese censorship and saw Randy Marsh saying, "F**k the Chinese Government."
