The anchors of the NBC morning show who previously worked with Lauer break their silence as the sexual assault allegation was revealed in Ronan Farrow's tell-all book.

AceShowbiz - "Today" anchors whom Matt Lauer previously worked with reacted to the allegation that the embattled star forced himself on former colleague Brooke Nevils. Both Savannah Guthrie and Hoda Kotb were shocked as the rape accusation came to light in Ronan Farrow's new book.

"I feel like we owe it to our viewers to pause for a moment," Guthrie addressed the shocking news during the October 9 broadcast on the NBC morning show. "This is shocking and appalling. I honestly don't even know what to say about it."

"I want to say I know it wasn't easy for our colleague Brooke to come forward then, it's not easy now and we support her and any women who have come forward with claims. And it's just very painful for all of us at NBC and who are at the Today show. It's very, very, very difficult."

Kotb added, "It's like you feel like you've known someone for 12 years … and all of a sudden a door opens up and it's a part of them you didn't know." She went on, "I think I speak for all of us: we are disturbed to our core."
