The 'Pose' star writes in his Instagram post that he's 'thrilled beyond belief' to be expecting another child with his wife Kimberly Brook while shedding light on past miscarriages.

AceShowbiz - James Van Der Beek is looking forward to expanding his family of seven with another addition to the brood. The 42-year-old actor has announced that his wife Kimberly Brook is currently pregnant with their sixth child.

The "Dawson's Creek" alum took to Instagram to share the good news and revealed the first ultrasound on "Dancing with the Stars" on Monday, October 7. The "Varsity Blues" star is one of the celebrity contestants in the 28th season of the dancing competition series.

"Thrilled beyond belief to announce that another little bundle of joy has picked us to be their family," he wrote on his Instagram post, along with a picture of him, his wife and their five children. "We chose to have our first ultrasound on camera with our #DWTS crew capturing the result - something I NEVER thought we'd ever do..."

Shedding light on three past miscarriages they had suffered, James added, "but @vanderkimberly and I have been through three of those first appointments to discover either no heartbeat, or no baby, and she wanted to share this moment."

"Miscarriage (a word that needs a replacement - nobody failed to 'carry', these things sometimes just happen) is something that people rarely talk about, and often go through in secret. But there needs to be zero shame around it, or around giving yourself the time and space to grieve," he continued, echoing the sentiment of other couples who have been through similar situation.

He went on explaining their decision to film their first ultrasound for "DWTS", "We decided to put ourselves out there - not knowing what we'd find - in an effort to chip away at any senseless stigma around this experience and to encourage people who might be going through it to open themselves up to love & support from friends and family when they need it most. Happily, for us - this time- we walked out with tears of joy." He added the hashtag #AndThenIDancedAQuickStep, referring to his dance in the episode.

James and Kimberly tied the knot in 2010, a year after he separated from his first wife Heather McComb and the same year his and his ex's divorce was finalized. The couple is already parents to four daughters, Olivia, 9, Annabel, 5, Emilia, 3, Gwendoyln, 15 months, and son Joshua, 7.
