Both the 'Krypton' actor and the 'Little Women' cast member have reportedly tested for the love interest part once linked to One Direction member Harry Styles.

AceShowbiz - Newcomers Cameron Cuffe and Jonah Hauer-King have tested to play "The Little Mermaid (2020)" role Harry Styles swam away from.

The One Direction star decided he wasn't a good fit for the Prince Eric part in Rob Marshall's live-action movie adaptation of the animated Disney classic, and now the director is looking further afield for his film's love interest.

Both young actors tested for Marshall in London on Monday, September 23, according to Deadline.

Meanwhile, "13 Reasons Why" star Christian Navarro and "Shazam!"'s Asher Angel have also revealed they recently auditioned for the role opposite Halle Bailey, who will play mermaid Ariel in the film, Melissa McCarthy, Awkwafina, and Jacob Tremblay.

Cuffe recently played Superman's grandfather Seg-El on "Krypton", while Hauer-King has appeared in the BBC limited series "Little Women" and "A Dog's Way Home".
