In the first interview after his hospitalization, the 'Dog's Most Wanted' star says he believes his recent health scare was a 'psychological' thing since he has been through a hard time following his wife Beth's passing.

AceShowbiz - Dog The Bounty Hunter a.k.a. Duane Chapman has suggested that the grief over his wife Beth Chapman's passing might have caused his recent health scare. The reality TV star chokes up as he admits that he has "a broken heart" in his first interview since his hospitalization.

Describing his chest pain that sent him to the hospital, the bounty hunter says he "couldn't breathe" and felt like he had run "three or four miles," even though he only did a simple workout. He tells FOX31 Denver that "it feels much better now" and that he has more tests scheduled for Thursday and Friday, September 19 and 20.

While it was initially suspected that he had a heart attack, Dog calls his illness as "a broken heart." He holds back tears as he says, "I think, basically, I had a broken heart. And of course, it's going to heal." The 66-year-old reality TV star adds, "I'm going through some psychological things right now so that doesn't help. There's something haywire or it's psychologically. I don't know."

As the interviewer extends his sympathy for Dog's loss, the "Dog's Most Wanted" says that coping with the death of his longtime love "is something you don't pray you have to go through, let me tell ya."

Dog was rushed to a hospital in Castle Rock, Colorado last weekend after experiencing symptoms similar to a heart attack, including sweating and chest pains. Doctors were performing tests before later determining that he did not need corrective surgery on his heart.

He was released from the hospital on Tuesday. "Dog is back at home and resting comfortably," his rep said in a statement at the time. "He is overwhelmed by the support of fans and friends from around the world, and is deeply touched by the outpouring of prayers, love, and encouragement."
