AceShowbiz - Miranda Lambert and Brendan McLoughlin may no need to spend time apart anymore. The cop, who is currently on a leave of absence from his post at the New York Police Department, is reported to be possibly quitting from his job so that he can "stick by Miranda's side."

"Brendan had always planned on returning to the NYPD after taking a short hiatus from work. He loves being a police officer and it's something he saw himself doing for the rest of his life. Brendan had every intention of spending time with Miranda after their wedding to just enjoy the honeymoon phase and then go back after her tour is done," a source explains to HollywoodLife. "But as time has gone on, Miranda and Brendan have become so inseparable and love spending as much time together as they can."

Should he choose to permanently leave the NYPD, Brendan will likely join Miranda's security team. "They have discussed Brendan possibly not going back to the NYPD and instead serving as security for Miranda," the co-called insider dishes. "At this point, it's definitely an option for them but no final decision has been made yet and it's something that's still being discussed. Brendan still has time to decide if he wants to go back or if he wants to change direction & stick by Miranda's side."

Brendan, who married the country music star in a surprise wedding in January, has been on a leave of absence since July.

Miranda recently gushed about her husband during a concert in Atlantic City as part of her "Roadside Bars & Pink Guitars" tour. Before singing a "sad" song, "Tin Man", the 35-year-old songstress said she's not "sad" anymore, thanks to her husband Brendan.

"Lucky for me, I'm not in a sad time anymore in my life, thank you to my sweet husband - from Staten Island, by the way!" she told the audience. "So even though I'm not sad anymore thanks to Brendan my husband, I still love a sad country song with all my heart, so I'm going to sing a sad one if you want to get sad with me."
