AceShowbiz - Alex Trebek has returned to host the new season of "Jeopardy!" following months of pancreatic cancer treatment.

The beloved host of the U.S. TV game show marked his comeback on the premiere episode of the 36th season on Monday night, September 09, and provided fans with a short acknowledgement of his health battle at the beginning of the episode.

"Thank you, ladies and gentlemen, and welcome to our show...," Trebek smiled. "Today, Jeopardy! begins its 36th season on the air and I'm happy to report I'm still here."

Alex, 79, did not provide further details on his health progress after revealing in March he had been diagnosed with stage four pancreatic cancer. The Canadian presenter has been undergoing chemotherapy to combat the disease.
